STOP FRISKING CAMPAIGN

The federal ruling that deemed the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk tactics unconstitutional was a landmark decision, but the battle is far from over. Mayor Bloomberg, who recently said “I think we disproportionately stop whites too much and minorities too little,” already said he’s going to appeal the decision.

In the meantime, to keep the pressure on, ANIMAL teamed up with artist Jay Shells (who you may know from thisthis, or this) to create these “Stop Frisking” sticker packs. We can’t advocate that you go out and slap them on public property, because that would be unlawful–much like stop and frisk–but if you do, a local stop sign would be a great place to start. Oh, and if you see an augmented sign, please take a photo and hashtag it #stopfrisking.

The FREE stickers were available for pickup at many stores in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. Written by Animal.
